The Friendship Club continues to be well attended. Recently we have celebrated Burn’s birthday, Valentine’s Day and Shrove Tuesday.
For our meeting at the end of March club members and volunteers have been encouraged to make and wear an Easter bonnet, of course it is not compulsory.
We have had our usual good quality musical entertainment including some singers from EROS (East Renfrewshire Operatic Society). We also had Christmas songs in many languages and with instrumental accompaniments from some of the talented and enthusiastic pupils from Mearns Primary School.
As a bit of a departure from our usual entertainment, on February 27th we had a talk from Rev Eddie Simpson. He gave a moving and informative talk on his experiences as Prison Chaplain at HMP Barlinnie.
There are many more entertaining meetings to come. We will finish the session with an outing for afternoon tea on 21st May. The venue has still to be confirmed.
Happy Easter from all the members and volunteers of the Friendship Club!
